Meet the Practitioners:
Jacob Gauge
Licensed Esthetician & Massage Therapist
Owner of Lay On Hands Spa
(they/them)
Jacob has been a Licensed Esthetician since 2019 and a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2020. Before that, they worked as a skincare specialist and make-up artist at Ulta, helping customers find the right routine for their skincare concerns and perfect foundation match. After obtaining an Oncology Certification in Esthetics to help those dealing with the complications of chemo and radiation, Jacob continues to further their education for complicated and sensitive skin conditions. In massage, they focus on Swedish, Neuromuscular, Trigger Point, Pin & Stretch, and Myofascial therapies. Jacob finds the most joy in massage and facials which is what you will find at Lay On Hands Spa.
Jacob enjoys spending time with their friends, family and fur babies. They have one cat (Iris) and two dogs (Suni & Amai). Jacob enjoys some light gaming, playing Dungeons & Dragons, going to conventions like Comic Con, and watching Star Trek with their husband, Derek.
Expect to be truly cared for by someone who pours their all into providing and customizing your treatment plan.
Deon Nelson
Licensed Massage Therapist
Renter at Lay On Hands Spa
(he/him)
Deon has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2021. Although he is never opposed to providing clients with some nice relaxation, his bread and butter centers around Stretching & Sports Massage techniques. If you are active in sports or working out those therapies are perfectly designed to help your muscles recover quicker and can also prevent certain injuries. This professional focus comes from Deon’s personal love of sports! His goal is to keep expanding his knowledge in this field while continuing to fuse it with the peaceful relaxation benefits of an exceptional massage.
Outside of massage, he dedicates the majority of his time away from work to his two boys (5&7). Taking them to as many sports they want to sign up for! He has also coached basketball for the past decade at the youth level, and has since added soccer and baseball to the mix after his kids showed interest. When he's not chasing the boys around you can find him in a gym getting up and down the court as well, trying to stay loose! He is ultimately looking forward to continuing to give back to the community through his work here!

I approach my work with a deep sense of empathy and compassion, recognizing that each person's needs are distinct. I prioritize creating meaningful connections that extend beyond transactions and hope to ensure that everyone who engages with this establishment feels genuinely cared for and supported on their journey. I believe in the constant evolution of learning and growth to better my understanding of the services, products, information and care provided, along with expanding what being a practitioner means to me. At Lay On Hands Spa, I dream to not just be a business, but a positive force in the lives these hands are blessed to work for.
